Think you’ve skied or boarded before? Think again. Take this trip, just an overnight train away from your study abroad city and have the weekend of your life. Finish classes on Thursday and wake up in Interlaken, the world-center for extreme sports on Friday morning. Then take a short commuter train up the valley, followed by a gondola that takes you right over the sheer cliff face that your hometown for the weekend, Gimmelwald, is perched on. Gimmelwald is known for its friendly people, and cows and dramatic, to say the least, scenery. Crash at the Mountain Hostel, where you can sip a beer, chilling in the wood oven hot tub, watching the sunset over the majestic peaks of the Swiss Alps.
