Q- Hey! I'm Ryan and I'm planning a 2-3 month tour around Europe for next year. I keep getting differing opinions on the matter and it's left me a little confused. for the majority of European countries, would I need a travellers or a student's visa of any sort? I have my passport, but would i need any visas to enter any country as a tourist? I'm not a college or university student, I'm just planning a trip before I start going to college. any help would be appreciated!

A- Hey Ryan, no need for visas in most/all of Western Europe. Only reason you'd need one is if you stay in one country for an extended period of time, like over 3 months. so, in your case, you really don't need to worry about it. When I entered Turkey, though, I had to buy a $20 tourist visa but didn't need any prior planning or reservations etc. Passport's all you need! have a great trip:)

Q- By the way, I also wanted to ask you - what camera do you use? Your London pictures looked amazing as far as quality is concerned, so I was wondering if you use a dSLR camera. I'm thinking of buying one for my backpacking trip, but SLRs are pretty big and I'm worried about lugging around such a big camera. Do you have any opinion/advice about this?

A- Hey again krassi,
I use a nikon d40 with an upgraded lense. It is an SLR, but for me, it's worth it because of the quality of shots I get. It's absolutely amazing. I also enjoy messing around with photography and as soon as you get into SLRs, it gives you complete freedom over exactly how you want to take your shot. the upgraded lense both doubled the price and weight of the camera itself, but its an 18-200 which let's me get super close up without getting awkward if I want to sneak a face-shot. All in all, the d40 is a nice, compact package that isn't overly bulky.
